Touchlines by Harold Spence Sales

Sun, May 10, 1992 through Thu, Jul 30, 1992

Harold Spence-Sales is a well-known Canadian architect and urban planner who has spent his life observing our lands and our settlements. His installation is a unique photographic portrayal of the common lands along the border between the United States and Canada through which people pass from one country to another. The installation conveys the voice of the landscapes through symbolic arrangements of wall panels and models incorporation photographs, drawings and text. Although Spence-Sales has mapped these lands from the Pacific to the Atlantic, this gallery exhibition features images of the border lands of Mt. Baker’s domain and the prairies.
