The event will begin with a blessing by Lummi elder Doug James. The first session will highlight two contemporary Coast Salish artists, Jeffrey  Veregge (S'Klallam/Duwamish/Suquamish) and Dan Friday (Lummi). Both artists will give a 25 minute presentation on how Salish culture has influenced their artistic journey. After the talks, there will be a panel discussion with questions from the audience. Each artist will have a space to display their work and visitors are encouraged to speak with them during the break.

The second session will encompass three 20 minute presentations by scholars who will discuss specific aspects of Coast Salish culture, Bruce Miller, University of British Columbia, Crisca Biewert, Western Washington University, and Chris Friday, Western Washington University.
