Perspectives: John Feodorov, Associate Professor of Art at Fairhaven College

John Feodorov (Diné) is an Associate Professor of Art at Fairhaven College at Western Washington University. An esteemed artist, musician and lecturer, his worldview and artistic practice are shaped by his experiences as a “mixed-blood urban Indian” who grew up between the Navajo reservation and the suburbs of Los Angeles. Feodorov’s work engages and confronts the viewer through questioning assumptions about Identity, Spirituality, and Place within the context of late capitalism. His expertise will guide a conversation of his artwork, professional experiences, and the Indigenous artists featured in Arbitrary Borders: Works by artists of color in Washington’s State Art Collection.

John will hold his talk among the artworks in the Western Gallery.
