Dharitri Bhattacharjee will begin by offering some thoughts on Ali’s Red Chador performance and Gandhi’s politics as protest art. She will then conduct a discussion on methods and outcomes in these comparative art forms.

Dr. Bhattacharjee studies and teaches South Asian History, Indian Ocean World, Empire, Colonialism and Decolonization at Western Washington University.

The Perspectives Series brings together scholars from a range of backgrounds and interests to lead informal 45-minute discussions of topics conjured by the art installations.
