The WWU Jazz Combo will perform at the Western Gallery and the writer Serge Lecomte will read Beat poetry in celebration of Ibram Lassaw’s Abstract Expressionist projection paintings.
Serge Lecomte (aka Fergus MacRoich) is the author of numerous collections of poetry and several novels. He earned a Masters and Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University in Russian Literature. He taught languages at the University of Alaska for two decades and was the poetry editor for Paper Radio for several years. He has also worked a variety of odd jobs including pipefitting, gardening, and bartending in one of Fairbanks’ worst bars.
