Drawing Power

This exhibition explores the definition of drawing - the act of making a mark and/or depicting forms on a surface by lines. These artists extend the range of media in their drawings beyond the traditional use of pen and ink, pencil or charcoal.

The working and finished drawings by thirty-five Northwest artists were selected by the Director of the gallery. Linda Dolan, who has been both a gallery intern at the Western Gallery and Port Angeles Art Center for the past year, arranged the installation under the Director's supervision. Paul Brower, gallery technician, hung the exhibition with special attention to the problem of bright lights damaging works on paper.
